SOC holds events once-ish a month, ranging from fun to competitive events.

School-kids: Do you prefer individual sports? Looking for something fun to do after school on a Monday? Test your map and navigation skills alongside other school kids, and explore new places! Come along when you can, and try something new.
When: Mondays, weekly for 4 weeks in Feb/March

Feb 23rd – Turnbull Thomson Park, near Hockey Turf
March 2nd – Bushy Point, Otatara
March 9th – Queens Park, Feldwick Gates
March 16th – Donovan Park TBC
Start: 4:00–5:00 PM | Course Closes: 6:00 PM
Cost: Free! MSK Medical Imaging have kindly covered your entry fee.
Who Can Enter: Year 5–13 school students (including home-schooled)
Courses: (White = easy, beginner. Yellow = more experienced)

How It Works

so we know how many maps to print.
At the event, collect your map and start anytime between 4:00–5:00 PM.
60-second gaps between runners on the same course.
Children can be shadowed by a caregiver, or go in pairs. Just fill out a new form for each child please.
New to orienteering? No worries, we’ll help you get started!
Please note: Children take part on the course independently, so parents/caregivers are responsible for their safety.
